I still enjoy my 2007 G35S a lot. I found that commute time in G was a little bit shorter. I also found G was a little bit easier to drive (maybe because G is a little bit smaller) but GSF had higher limit (because of its bigger and better PSS tires)
Both GSF and G have similar MPG!!! Now I realize why many people don't buy Nissan 3.5 engine because of its MPG.
I also find that the shocks in GSF are already Sachs and built in German. So I think that those performance coilovers from Bilstein, KW, Ohlins, etc are very good but you need to sacrifice some ride comfort. I would not say their rides are good but I think their rides are OK if you're seeking for car performance like me.
My wife and I did a road trip (over 2000 km) last week. We both like our new 2017 GSF. She said she loved GSF much more than her 2010 M35X(totally stock). I think GSF does much better in a long road trip. I can set its cruise control at 120 kph at curve downhill mountain highway confidently. If I remember right, my 2007 G35S with KW V3 could did the same in the past. (Maybe G was a little bit better) Of course new GSF ride is much more comfortable...
MPG on GSF is still similar to my G(maybe 1 mpg less) but much better than M(>3 mpg). Both GSF and M have similar weight(over 1.8 ton).
If you like me keep your car for over 10 years, Infiniti/Lexus is very good choice. Their cars can keep in like new condition for at least 10 years. They may not adopt latest technology as fast as other car makers but their cars have much better quality. GSF is expensive but for my driving style I think I need to buy 3 BMWs for the next 15 years. So GSF is not expensive any more. If you are willing to buy used one, you can save even more money...

Your comparison with the 10-year gap to the MPG is not fair for your G & M. The technology applied to MPG today is very much better than past 10 years ago.
