I own a 2017 GSF now but I just rented a 2018 MX-5 Miata

Without launch control NSX is about as fast as GT-R which is also 4.1 sec...

So I think that 4.1 sec could be right... because I cross reference the two latest SUPER FAST cars GT-R and NSX and they both have the same results...

The below is the history about some of my owning cars in the past...

1998 Altima (2.4 I4) >>>> 9.8 sec
(22.73% faster)
2000 Maxima (3.0 V6) >>>>> 7.8 sec
(38.46 faster)
2007 G35S (3.5 V6) >>>>> 5.3 sec
(7.84% faster)
2017 GSF (5.0 V6) >>>>> 4.9 sec
(17.78% faster)
GT-R (3.8T V6) >>>>> 4.1 sec

Based on the above history, it seems I should skip GSF and buy GT-R directly...

However GT-R only has 2 door version. If GT-R has 4 door version, I will definitely buy one. (because we need a new big 4 door car to replace my wife's old M35X for my family's long trip car...)

Recently I'm always thinking why that Miata felt so noisy on highway. I felt that sound was from the back. I think it could be exhaust sound...

This morning I just found my GSF exhaust sound was a little loud on highway over 120 km/h but it's mostly from the front (could be intake sound???). Of course Miata is much louder than my GSF. I think the noise could be caused by the very high rpm from Miata engine...(The rpm on highway at 120 km/h is near 3500 which is even higher than my old G's 3000).

But, my old G and M exhaust are very quiet except you run them over 4000 rpm...

So the real world performance(without launch control and T/C on) for those super fast cars like GT-R and NSX is around 4.0 sec instead of 3.0 sec!!!

Although comparing with the old G35S my GSF is not fast for 0-96 test (4.93 vs 5.30) but GSF DOES feel a bit faster after 100 km/h...

In 1/4 mile I guess they each could have about 12% difference...
G35S >>>> 100 mph
GSF >>>> 112 mph
GT-R/NSX >>>> 125 mph

"Nissan doesn't do very well on 1/4 mile" may not be a BAD thing... Because it's designed more for daily use not for RACE...

If you like to race with other cars, you better pick other brands like HONDA instead of Nissan...

But, both GT-R and NSX are high performance cars which should be designed for RACE. So, in that regard NSX is a better choice...

But, I always drive my performance car for grocery shopping, family trips, daily commute, etc... So, for ME I think GT-R is still a solid choice...

This R8 also needs 4.4sec from 0 to 96...

HA! HA! I finally find a way to understand how fast the car is in real world!!!

If you check their 1/4 mile speeds (not time), they all become similar no matter with or without launch control, T/C on or off...

As I said before GSF, RCF and M4 are about the same fast... NSX, GT-R is about 12% faster and G35S is about 12% slower...

So I should have tested 1/4 mile for all my previous cars but I will definitely NOT do it because I may be put into a jail...

The new M5, E63S, Panamera turbo are all about as fast as GT-R now... (although GT-R is still a bit faster from 0-96)

Even the late year models of previous generation M5, E63S were still pretty fast even comparing with GT-R...
