Typing in Chinese takes me forever, excuse me to reply in English if you wouldn't consider it's rude in this forum.
My condo is a big but aged one which is formed with nearly 680 units, lots of expats family stays here. my 6 yrs old son merged to the expats kids gang very quickly and full around by the pool side after school. He picks up English very quickly without Singlish accent which pleases me most.
As for the weather, I prefer here better than Taipei. The extremely hot season is in the 2nd quarter of the year. The highest temperature is around 35 degree which is better than the extreme temperature in Taipei when we took home leave there this summer.
The only issue for me is the local food here, I have to avoid chili very carefully since my stomach wouldn't agree with. I prefer food in TW more.
Driving here is easier than in Taipei for the clearer sign arrangement, and much less autobikes.

There's one TW food resturant at City Hall (台灣小吃)
Drop there a few times to refresh my memory in TW.
I live myself with wife comes along once a month & stay for few days
cook my favorite meal, said, golden days in a month.
The kids come only between semesters.

I only arrived here by May, 2009 with Employee Pass when I got my new job offering, and didn't try to apply PR. I have two boys, they don't have to spend time on military service in TW, and I don't want them to pay extra effort on National Service in SGP.
It seems that you had built up a strong base fort in TW so that your family has to hold the fort while you are working here...just kidding
