Absolutely right. Plays suffer immense stress, and find their own way to discharge it and the emotions accumulated from it. So long as it does not violate sportsmanship, it should be considered a part of the game. It's bad manners, of course, though, will it be considered a betrayal of sportsmanship? Great players such as R. Federer, and Rafa Nadal vent their anger at themselves occasionally, don't they? Over the last two decades, Big 3 had hoarded 60 trophies of Grand slams, which testifies how great they are. 35+ and they are still competitive, a scenario that unimaginable when Austrian T. Muster was 32 and stood at world no. 1 player in modern professional tennis.
Djokovic cried on court during changeover. He was so close to making history. It's "tough to swallow the loss, considering everything's on the line." He probably knew and was disappointed at one game away to lose it.

Don't be so sure. Rafa just said that he's recovering.

This is a hindsight, and it's just me.
(as far a the semi-final is considered) Djokovic didn't win the gameS, Sasha lost them. Sasha dug himself a big hole with UEs at important and easy points, which cost him the games and the match subsequently. The big hole made the match a 5-set decider and could have dragged Novak Djokovic along with it, considering Novak's stamina and the depth of his fuel tank to complete the tournament. [The match saw a record 53-shots rally, and 30+-shots rally and long shots rallies were here and there during the match.]
The final is a reminder of how D. Medvedev defeat Novak a couple of years ago, when he served hard at his second service. D. Medvedev learned the lessons, was well-prepared, and came back to get himself a happy anniversary present for himself and his wife, Dasha. Congratulations! And salutations to those who had made tennis wonderful to enjoy.
Rafa pocketed Olympic gold medal in 2008, which has made him a golden slammer already, a G-slammer which neither R. Federer nor N. Djokovic is. Rafa should be eyeing on Australian Open to make himself a player to win each GS twice, an achievement N. Djokovic made this year at Roland Garros. Rafa had missed twice for the try, the latest being the the setback from R. Federer's epic comeback to claim the AO title in 2018.
