Monolith Conical MC3改造型了,改為傾斜的樣式,高度降為370mm(只比小富士高1公分),我本來還在為找不到位置可以放Conical而傷腦筋,以後就可以跟小富士及KNG擺在一起了,真期待!!

錐刀直徑也從68mm加大到跟Mazzer Robur/Kold E 一樣的71mm,Denis還在郵件中提到另外幾個變動:

Alignment is nigh perfect. Range for espresso is huge and as usual you can use grinder to grind as coarse as you wish.

There is also new, big, high quality, beautiful switch that we finally managed to source. Rated for one million cycles.

We also added a funnel sweeper in case few coffee beans decide to camp on the funnel wall when you use RDT. Now sticking is minimized.

Safety cap that sits on top of the funnel receives an update as well. Added is the flap which covers center hole so in case bean fragment decides to jump out, flap blocks it. Flap sits at an offset from the bean entrance so you can still pour beans freely.

有幸訂到這一批次的Conical MC3,有種賺很大的感覺


第一次看到Monolith Conical時,我就對它的側面鎖緊方式有些疑慮
因為這很難保證刀盤不會走位
我的繪意71原開發者在開發過程也提過這點,所以他不使用側面鎖的方式

最後在看到一堆人的使用經驗後還是忍不住下手一代了
還好結果是好的,這68mm刀盤表現確實比我先前在繪意71使用Mazzer 71mm刀盤好多了

使用非鎖結構,或者繪意71的對鎖結構,就一定比側面鎖好嗎? 這點我也是有點疑慮
側面鎖會造成刀盤走位,是因為側面鎖讓刀盤座的固定位置可能向某一側跑
但是非鎖結構或對鎖結構,刀盤座能讓你轉得動,就代表它的螺牙周圍有間隙
如何保證刀盤座一定在正中間呢

In this version we also updated burrs from 68mm to 71mm diameter. Reason for this change is so you can get better selection of burrs. Cutting surfaces are the same between 68 and 71mm burrs, with difference that 71mm outer burr has more “meat” on it thus larger diameter.

As far as selection goes, now we can offer our standard made for us 71mm burrs, Mazzer 71mm burrs and Gorilla 71mm burrs. Grinder comes with burrs that we custom order made for us. Grind quality between new 71mm and old 68mm burrs is pretty much the same.

至於刀盤會不會偏心的問題,因為還沒用過也無法判斷,只能希望這個新版本如同郵件中所說的:

我相信Kafatek不會推出有問題的產品
不管它是側面鎖還是不用鎖,磨出來的品質都會很好
71mm能用Mazzer,italmill,Gorilla Gear刀盤
如果您想試試Mazzer刀盤我倒是可以借您,但我覺得也不需要去試啦
內外螺紋一定要有間隙,做緊配合會很難轉動。
磨豆機的螺紋內側要開排除咖啡粉的溝槽,可以避免長久使用後羅牙間隙被細粉填塞咬死的狀況。

使用側鎖的固定環式鎖定型式在設計固定環的時候只要有訣竅就可以避免魚大您說的側向偏移。
Monolith新的固定方式與Mazzer一樣都是用彈簧把調整機構往上頂,讓內外螺牙之間產生很大的摩擦力而固定不動(類似彈性華司的功能)。
只要彈簧彈性夠有強,基本上不會有晃動的。
但是兩難之處是彈簧夠強就比較不易轉動調整,所以Mazzer會在調整環上鎖一隻鋼棒增加力矩。

一般會用3個彈簧,但因為彈簧的精度並不高,誤差會造成刀盤平行,最好是用6個....
