Today I drove my wife's 2010 M35X because it rained last night...(I only drive my GSF at sunny days!!!)

Wow! On highway this old Nissan was still very peppy thanks to its 5 speed auto. The engine rpm was always around 3000 rpm.

If my current GSF wants to be faster than that old Nissan it has to be on Sport+ mode (not Sport mode) Of course, if I force my GSF to downshift to a much lower gear, my GSF will become much faster!!! (305hp vs 467hp)

If you think my wife's M35X is fast... Then let me tell you, my son's 2007 G35S with 200K kms is even faster thanks to 500lbs lighter weight and more efficient RWD(M35X is AWD)!!!

0-96 test...
G35S : 5.07 seconds
M35X : 5.82 seconds

Actually 5.82 seconds on 2010 M35X tested 6 years or 50K kms ago was not the fastest yet!!!

These Japanese cars will keep faster and faster... I will try to test it again next spring. My guess is it could run in 5.7x or maybe even better 5.6x!!!

Let's wait and see...

Time runs so fast, although the two old Nissans in my family are like TIMELESS machines...

Now used Q50 3.7 become very good buy, also...

The interior and exterior from every new car could become boring a few of years later including my current 2017 GSF...

However, the performance from these Japanese cars NEVER get boring since they keep going faster and faster!!!

Of course, if possible I can put Ohlins DFV or similar on my wife's M35X, then this Nissan could be as fun as my GSF or M5 with stock suspension if not better...

Like I said everything has pros and cons. To get that level of performance, I also have to sacrifice some ride comfort...

Auto industry becomes mature and mature... So the advantage becomes minimal now!!! Only those cars lasting longer or more solid built will win...

This young driver also thinks his old G is very fun when being driven HARD!!!

Two years later, today I just taught my daughter to drive this almost 14 year old G AGAIN... (Two years ago, I taught my son with this G)

This summer we will give my wife's current M35X to my daughter. Then we will buy Q60S or Q60RS...

This morning the weather was not so good. So I drove my wife's 2010 M35X...

My wife said this M was unstable and difficult to drive.... After I rented 2018 M4 competition, 2018 MX-5 and currently own 2017 GSF, I think this M is not bad at all!!! (Actually it's quite good!!!)

You're right. It has some body rolls... but, MX-5 also had some body rolls. Actually having some body rolls is not a bad thing because you can tell what the current G force is by those body rolls.

You're right. M35X's suspension is softer... but, MX-5's suspension is not stiff, either. GSF(stock) and M4 competition suspensions are not very stiff. M35X's response is slower but you just need to give it a little more time, it will still make turns BEAUTIFULLY!!!

You're right. M35X's steering has more rubbery feeling than my GSF's but it is still accurate and has enough feedbacks...

I admit GSF's steering is much better for long trips since you will not feel tired thanks to much more direct and accurate steering.

However, for less then 1 hour trips or daily commute, I think M35X's steering is still totally OK...
