One more thing...

Due to many storms recently, I didn't drive my 2017 GSF often. Guess what... Last week when I drove my GSF to pick up some ordered pizzas for my lunch, its electronic parking brake was out of function!!! (I saw an error message in my dashboard screen which also wanted me to visit a Lexus dealer ASAP!!!)

However, the error was gone by itself luckily after I stuck on my driveway for about one minute. (My son's 2007 G35S and my daughter's 2010 M35X never had this kind of problem before!!!)

Now, I wonder when my GSF may get stuck again??? (Hope not... Knock on wood!!!)

PS: I really cannot imagine how frustrated I could be if my current car is a problematic European car!!!

Recently my GSF sometimes totally ignored me when I tried to touch the door handle to open the door... I also encountered a long beep when I tried to lock doors, even though everything was closed and the key was in my pocket.

The first situation was solved by using the remote to unlock the door. The second situation was solved by lock doors twice.

Maybe the security system in Lexus is more sensitive. However, I NEVER experienced the same situations in my Infinitis until two of the remotes of my Infinitis were completely dead at about 12(M35X) and 15(G35S) year old.

My GSF is already 6 year old now... I think so far, the reliability competition of Infiniti and Lexus is still A DRAW!!! (Like I said... It's definitely NOT EASY that my new Lexus tries to beat my previous Nissan/Infiniti in reliability!!! )

However, in overall refiness... I do believe my new Lexus beats my old Infinitis... (Maybe that's because my current Lexus is newer and more expensive)

I also believe Infiniti should provide more features if both are at the same price level...(as usual)

PS: The MSRP of GSF is 60% and 125% more expensive than M35X and G35S!!!

This year is the second wettest year in California in the history!!!

However, strangely my son seems to be pretty quiet about his old G35S recently??? (His old Nissan had some water leakage problems)

My guess is... As my son has never washed his old Nissan, those drain holes/pipes for the sunroof could be blocked. Thanks to so many storms in California this year, so, those blocked holes/pipes could have been finally flushed and cleaned now...

That's why those water leakage problems have been solved automatically, I guess!!! (Hope he keeps being quiet... Knock on wood!!!)

這年加州缺水,一直就是少雨的,但是來得太多又吸收不了
It's very interesting that you use a FORUM as your blog page on M35. Anyways, I'm just here to say INFINITI makes great cars, I've driven Q45/QX4/FX35.

I love talking cars but most of people don't like to hear those rambles... [
6 months later, my son's 2007 G35 gets another issue... (Like I said... Even though these Japanese cars are extremely reliable, they still begin to have some problems after 15 year usage!!!)

The problem is cracked intake tubes.

Strangely, my son's car doesn't throw any engine code yet. My son also said his car just made a best MPG record since he owned the car!!!

So, I also bought the below parts(80USD, thanks GOD... It's not expensive!!!) to replace the old ones...

CZP Silicone Air Intake Hose Set, VQ35HR VQ37VHR - Nissan 350Z 370Z / Infiniti G35 G37 Q40 Q60

PS: If your car is a turbo car, this issue should put your car in limp mode and throw a code immediately!!! (You may ask how I found this issue... That's because I haven't checked my son's car for a while. So, today I'm in a good mood and check his car for free. Then, BINGO!!!)

Believe it or not... The OEM tube costs about 300USD EACH!!!

OEM Intake Tube

(So, 80USD for TWO is really a bargain!!!)

Today I fixed the intakes for my son's G35...

(One of those aftermarket intakes is NOT perfect fit. I had to do some trims on the driver side one to make it work!!!)

I also cleaned both throttle bodies(not very dirty) and did an idle speed relearn afterwards...

PS: I also asked my son if he felt any differences after the problem was fixed. Guess what... He said he did NOT felt any differences!!! (So, I said "Maybe I just don't fix it next time!!!")

So, my son's 2007 G35S is like a time bomb now. Who knows what the next problem will be...

I also don't like to do any DIY on these very old cars. Anything could become hard and brittle. Many maintenance tasks could become much more difficult and unexpected now!!!

I also persuade my son to buy a new car as he may need to fix his car every 6-12 month that is definitely NOT fun!!! (However, some European cars may not be better than his old Nissan even when they're only 4-6 year old!!! I think NO ONE likes to fix his/her car!!!)

I also found my son's G35S began to consume some engine oil. It's about 250-300cc or 7mm lower every 5K kms.

I think the current oil consumption rate is still OK even if my son's car is still under Nissan factory warranty. (So, Nissan will not fix the problem if it's still under warranty!!!)

Nissan will only fix the problem if the oil consumption rate is worse than 21mm lower every 5K kms...
