You may ask why I keep posing messages here...

That's because many messages in the forum are so fake and nonsense. So, I just can post my experiences to kill time... (I'm bored. Please contribute some of your true experiences... Thank you. )

Like I said although I never owned European cars, I had many friends and relatives who owned European cars... So, I know what situation will be like...

However, I found a strange situation here which was in this forum actually Japanese cars had much more problems??? So, I believe most of those nonsense messages are simply BIASED or NOT TURE!!! (I don't want to waste my time on those nonsense messages)

If I see a problem on Japanese cars, I have to see at least 5 problems on European cars... Then, I will start to believe some messages in this forum...

It's also quite easy to change differential oil from my son's G35S...

However, 7 years ago I put Ultra Racing braces on G35S to increase stiffness on rear end. Now, I have to remove the braces before changing differential... (more work just like my GSF)

UR Braces

I think I will try another approach which is "use vacuum pump to pump out the old fluid" as UR braces only block the drain plug but not filler plug...

Yesterday I changed front and rear differential fluids and center transfer case fluid in my wife's M35X...

I also did a general inspection on it... Again, NO PROBLEM was found!!!

I will still need to do a ATF flush (10QT) for it...

My solution for ATF flush is very similar to the below video which is much quicker and also easy. (Otherwise, I have to do drain and fill THREE TIMES!!!)

Today my daughter asked me why her classmate's Q5 was so slow when she was following her classmate's Q5??? She also asked me why her classmate kept hitting brake if the road became curved???

I told her that she should try some other cars...

My daughter also complained that her M35X became unstable sometimes...(my wife will pass her M35X to our daughter in December) So far, she only has driven two cars in her life. One is her M35X. The other is my son's G35S which is equipped with PSS10... (So, my daughter said M35X was unstable which was totally expected!!!)

Some people said that changing ATF should be done when ATF was cold...

Not sure about European cars but for these Japanese cars with torque convertor transmissions I don't think it's necessary!!! (These Japanese cars are very reliable, so don't be so picky especially for those nonsense topics)

However, you still need to follow SOP from the factory manuals when measuring the ATF level as ATF can be expanded based on the temperature...

Actually, I will warm up the ATF a bit before changing ATF... Why??? That's because when ATF gets warm, ATF will expand and the level will be higher... So, when I drain the old ATF, I will drain MORE...

Please be noted that you will only change about 60% of ATF fluid even though you do drain and fill 3 times...

ATF total capacity : 11 QT
Drain & Fill a time : 3 QT

Only 27% of old ATF is changed a time. So, 3 times drain & fill is 0.73 * 0.73 * 0.73 = 0.389. You still have about 40% old ATF in your transmission...

If you use cooler lines change, the situation will be better... But, you still cannot remove all of the old fluid as the new fluid and the old fluid will always be mixed in the torque converter...

Recently my wife and daughter's 2010 M35X got a little crazy again...

One of the driver seat switches shown in the below only worked intermittently!!!

So, I used WD40 contact cleaner and sprayed the bottom gap of the switch about 4-6 times. Guess what... Now, it works perfectly!!!

Like I said these Japanese cars LOVE being driven...

I don't think our 2010 M35X with only 90K kms is much more reliable than my son's 2007 G35S with 200K kms!!!

Some people complained the engine cover struts on their cars failed early...

Believe it or not... Both of my Nissans still work perfectly. Why??? That's because I always open the hoods and check everything every 3-6 month for my current Nissans and my previous 2000 Maxima... (so as my current 2017 GSF)

So, I NEVER had that problem in my life yet... (knock on wood)

PS: I always did routine checks for my cars even though they were very reliable in the past... Like I said before, I'm a CAR GUY and loved to do those checks!!!

Actually if your hood struts failed...

It could mean your car was quite reliable in the past. So, you seldom opened the hood for your car!!!
