奧克蘭聖誕節除了聖誕遊行外，最重要的節目就是欣賞聖誕裝飾。而奧克蘭有許多聖誕裝飾，其中大部分奧克蘭人想到的就是Ponsonby地區的Franklin路上的聖誕裝飾了，而這些並非是商業用途或是企業的品牌曝光。
When it comes to Christmas, the highlight is Christmas decor besides the Farmers Santa Christmas parade. There are many places around Auckland to see Christmas lights decorations and among these, most of aucklanders reckon the one at Ponsonby's Franklin road with non commercial use or non brand exposure is worth seeing.
每年聖誕節這條路都會吸引大批人來欣賞與拍照，有些人會選擇用走路，有些人則會選擇坐在車上開慢車欣賞，聖誕夜的人潮之多，多到附近交通都堵塞，栗還因此等不到遲到的公車而差點錯過最後一班回家的火車。
Each year as Christmas is around the corner, Franklin road draws lots of attention. Some people walk down the street while others sit in their cars at slow crawl. We encountered a terrible traffic jam on the neighborhood and almost could not hop on the last train home due the late bus.
每年住在這條路上的居民在聖誕節裝飾他們的房子已經成為一種傳統。這邊的房子不是只有單純的用燈泡裝飾或者聖誕花圈，大部分整間房子都被喜氣的裝飾與彩色燈泡圍繞著。其中擠得最水洩不通的則是由一個小男孩組合的大型室內電動聖誕村，大家擠在窗戶看著聖誕村每一個細節。在這條路上看聖誕裝飾還有一個好處就是可以看到天空塔，通常都是白色的天空塔在聖誕節此時會變成聖誕節版本的紅色與綠色。
It's a long-held Auckland tradition that the residents of this road putting on Christmas lights. The houses here are not just decorated with a few lights or a Christmas wreath. Most of them are covered entirely with colorful bulbs and cheerful decorations. The house flooded with visitors the most this year is the one with electric Christmas village display made by a little boy. Everyone leaned on the window looking at the display closely. One of the advantages of seeing Christmas lights display on Franklin road is you can see the close by Auckland landmark-sky tower turns to red and green color while usually in white color.
結論
強烈建議若在奧克蘭過聖誕節的話，一定要來這裡看看，雖然每年都吸引許多人潮而且交通也會很堵塞，但畢竟這些燈飾活動不需要付費，而且也不會有太商業化的裝飾在街上。
Strongly recommend to visit Franklin road during Christmas season in Auckland. The admission fee is free and no commercialized Christmas display on the street although the street is flooded with lots visitors and traffic is at a standstill.
