This V8 from Yamaha seems to be a bit slower when new but when getting old it becomes much faster...

(Just like fine wine the older the better... )

Believe it or not. Before bought 2017 GSF, I tried to buy a 2013 ISF(50K km) first last year. However the seller was asking USD43K and didn't want lower his price. So I paid USD6.45K to buy this GSF. I thought that ISF was old and didn't worth that money. I think I'm wrong...

After having done some google research, I think I have totally underrated Toyota engines in the past. Actually they are very quick and quicker than my Nissan VQ engines.

Like my Nissan VQ engines Toyota engines are just a little bit slow when new but they will become quicker than my Nissan VQ engines when getting old...

This also remind me of my 2000 Maxima in Taipei. I tried to race a IS300 with my Maxima in Taipei and found it was so much faster when we both starting from toll booth. I was thinking that IS300 might have turbo(no way stock IS300 could be that fast)...

I finally found someone who had the same opinion as mine. This person owned both ISF and GSF and said his GSF was slower than old ISF. But he also said GSF will get better and better when getting old. He also mentioned about German performance cars which were good only for the first few years...

I find this situation is quite interesting...

Japanese car makers do many improvements in suspension like stiffer unit body, double A suspension, etc but their cars still cannot match handling in German cars due to inferior shock absorbers except GT-R(Bilstein shocks)

In the other hand Germany car makers do many improvements in engine/transmission like twin clutch/turbo but their cars still cannot match refine and power of engines in Japanese cars.

So no one is perfect...

我覺得這種情況很有意思......

日本汽車製造商在懸架方面做了許多改進,例如更硬的單元車身,雙A懸架等,但由於除GT-R(Bilstein衝擊)之外的劣質減震器,他們的汽車仍然無法與德國汽車的操控相匹敵

另一方面,德國汽車製造商在發動機/變速器方面做了很多改進,如雙離合器/渦輪增壓,但他們的汽車仍然無法與日本汽車的發動機精煉和動力相匹敵。

所以沒有人是完美的...
