Dude, it's so freaken hard to save up money to buy a decent car in Taiwan. It's like saving twice as much, thinking about bring a used car from the states. Anyone know about the regulations?
Actually, I've noticed that the used car market in Taiwan is pretty decent. Most likely because most people in Taiwan prefer to drive new car instead of buying a 2nd hand car. I purchased a 2001 Infiinity QX4 for about $250K NT, which about the same price as on Kelly's Blue Book in the states. Only headache is that since it's a 3.5L, the gas guzzler tax is outragous.

Bringing a car from the States into Taiwan most of the time isn't much cheaper than just buying it here. You can't bringing in a brand new car, and the tax is about 85% of the net worth of the car. My friend brought in an AE86 a couple of years ago, the car costed him $5K, the import tax costed him another $4K.
I will make you suffer on the downhills with my superior body weight.

I took my RDX back to the dealer for some maintenance the other day
While waiting, I talked to my sales.
They offer me a new 08 STI for 33K OTD
(W/ Navi but no BBS)

Almost took my card to swipe the $500 deposit.
Almost....

I had enough cash,
I never try to negotiate anything if I don't have enough money lol

It was a heck of a deal,
But mom was thinking about me trading in my RDX for a ML or GLK.....
She test drove a GLK once and she fell in love with it.
Even tho she's only in US 4 months in a year. She still wants to drive that car lol

As for the Mercs, they were also on a big discount over here, too (Besides GLK)
So... Probably a no go

I wonder what will she thought after I but the STI, tho
My guess would be "You sepnt 30K on a stick shift? You dumb or what?"
Exactly.. that's everybody's reaction after I bought an evox.. "WTF you spent 30k on a piece of shi t mitsubishi?" But when they saw the car they felt better, at least it's fast lol.
